Torn at the Shoulder

It is just Smokey and me tonight. I love how no matter how much I feed her she is still hungry! She is a 3-year-old kitty but looks a lot like a baby panther because she is so big and grey and agile for all her fluff. Let just call her sturdy. The product of a Jewish mom and an Italian dad. Poor Steve would be over snuggled without Smokey and I would be very lonely on the nights he is painting late.

I am having a hard time letting go tonight. Not just letting go of my work day-which wasn’t so bad today- but letting go in general. I pulled out the old records and when I put Leonard Cohen on I knew it was going to be a long night. Sometimes it’s good to dig up the past, sometimes it just plain torturous. Tonight is a mix of both. I was very happy to be distracted by the many phone calls that came in tonight after I remember to plug the phone back in. If you can believe it we still have dial up and this morning I forgot to plug the phone back in (sorry Steve) after I was online. So one more round of Famous Blue Raincoat before bed and then I am letting go of this albulm for a while.
