My Reality is Surreal
I am reading a rather surreal book by Murakami called A Wild Sheep Chase and I love the book as well as Murakami because he can take the most mundane things, like ears or sheep for example, and make them magical and otherworldly. I was talking to a old pal on the phone tonight and started to a feel similar to that. Not that our conversation was mundane but I love how I have known this person for years (since high school) and we can talk about anything for hours and it always important and interesting. Maybe a bit because of the distance but our conversations have always been like that. I wish I had appreciated that in High School. Actually there are many things and people I wish I appreciated more then but I was more interested in tattoos and piercing and moving out in the middle of my senior year. Maybe that was a bit of my wild sheep chase to get where I am today. A place where in less than 2 weeks I can finally afford to pay off my credit card bill. I am counting down the days and so is Mastercard.
